Fawn Mckay

Fawn McKay Brodie was born in Ogden Utah on September 15 1915. Fawn, a member of the Mormon Church's longest-running family, merged her writing talents and exceptional research abilities into a brilliant biography on Joseph Smith. No Man was aware of My History appeared in 1945. It was derived from the sermon title that Joseph Smith delivered in 1844, when he shocked his hearers with the statement: You are not my friend and have not heard my heart. My history is not known to anyone. It's impossible for me to reveal it. The 29-year-old wrote Fawn at the time: Ever since the moment when he spoke, at least three-score writers have picked up the battle. A few people have even tried to make a clinical diagnosis. Documents do not lack and contradictory. In order to assemble these documents- to separate first hand accounts from thirdhand plagiarism, and to then put Mormon and non Mormon narratives together into a reliable mosaic isn't an difficult job. I find it both fascinating as well as eye-opening. Such was the task to which Fawn Brodie devoted herself professionally. Thaddeus S. Stevens was immortalized by her works and the fruit of her studies. Scourge of the south (1959) The Devil Drives. The Story of Sir Richard Burton (1967) Thomas Jefferson. A personal biography of Richard Nixon (1974) as also posthumously Richard Nixon.
